Deep fried foods are perfect for cold weather right. But I do feel a little bit guilty when I eat these kinds of dishes, because this drastically affects my waistline:-)
But if I make this I can enjoy it (with no guilty feeling) because this recipe has tons and tons of veggies as you can see in the pictures…. And I know this does good for me too.
This is great for kids as well, you can hide lots of vegetables inside this crispy pakora and they are not going to find it anymore.Most probably they will ask for more after having this!
Ingredients:
Vegetables of your Choice (I used carrot, cabbage, onion, potato, cabbage, brinjal, chillies) around 3- 3.5 cups of veggies
Gram Flour / Besan – 1 cup
Fennel Seeds 1 tblspn
Cumin Seeds half tables
Chilli Powder-1 tsp
Baking Powder-pinch (optionaly)
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
you can ad flex seeds sesames seeds its optional.
Method:
Chop your vegetables and wash it in a colander.
Put this in a mixing bowl, add salt and chilli powder.
Now add fennel, cumin seeds and baking powder in this.
Finally add in gram flour in this and mix well. Pour in some water and make into a thick batter kind of consistency.
Take a spoonful and drop into hot oil and fry till golden brown.
Serve hot with chilli salsa.
