Traditional Polish goose with apples is a great dish not only for the winter sunday feast. It tastes delicious with buckwheat and sauerkraut.

Ingredients:

  • 1 goose
  • 1 kg of sour apples (russet)
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tsps of salt
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp of chilli powder
  • 2 tsps of cardamom
  • squeezed juice of 1 lemon
  • 5 – 6 tsps of rapeseed oil
  • 2 – 3       tsps of ghee butter

Season meat with spices, smashed garlic and oil.  Place the meat into the fridge for at least 24 hrs.

Add chopped veggies, butter and stew 3 hrs on hob ( or cook in an oven), occasionally baste the meat, cook utill tender.
